two node see each other as "down"

The problem is that both nodes know that there is supposed to be another but
they are not actually seeing each other. Even if you only have one node and
you tell it you have 10 it will see ten nodes as down.  We had this problem
once before. The cluster had eight nodes running RH9 and one was down for a
while. The problem was with a driver for one of the NICs. The NIC would not
stay active. Go into  the configuration for the NIC and try to activate it.
If that does not work try configuring the driver. Just a thought.
