squashfs patch incompatibility

Hi all;

I'm building a Live CD, I know about Cluster Knoppix and others, but I
need a very small and customized Live CD, and Live USB Stick.
My problem is that I need to add the patch squashfs to the vanilla
sources, but it is incompatible with the openmosix patch, I tried with
squashfs 2.0 and 3.0 patches to the 2.4.26 vanilla sources, and
openmosix 2.4.26-1.
Is necesary to build the live CD with another compressed file system?
Cluster Knoppix use squashfs?
