Re:OpenMosix and Fedora Core 4

  Its not likely that CHAOS will run with the nodes you build, 
but it may (I think CHAOS 1.6 was the right kernel version for
the production RPMs).  All openMosix nodes in the cluster 
must have the same kernel with the same openMosix version,
and theymust be built with the same options (kernel-level 
options).  CHAOS wasn't built from the RPMs.

  The distribution developers tried to keep their kernels
compiled with the same oM features enabled at certain versions
so that users could mix-n-match them, but this hasn't been
sustained due to the intermittant distribution releases - for the
most part.  I believe that ClusterKnoppix and Qantian are 
the exception, as Qantian starts with CK - so they share a 
common kernel.

  You should find out pretty quickly if the kernels/oMs/compile
opts aren't the same .. one node will consistantly panic the 
other, either on cluster join or on first process migration.


  I don't have any immediate ambition to maintain CosMos,
mostly because amongst all of the moving and job changes I
don't have the build scripts at hand (they're on a CD some-
where).
