Hi there.
Maybe someone can help me with this setup.
I installed openMosix 2.4.26 for i686 using VirtualPC 2004 for
virtualization. Nodes are recognizing each other. openMosixView looks fine.
Process locks are disabled and processes should migrate. master node's speed
is manually set low.
Unfortunately processes won't migrate.
If started with mosrun -c they process extremely slow. While using about 60%
on the main node (where the process was started) they use about 5% on a
slave node. It seems as if there is still some capacity used on the main
node.
mosrun -<NodeID> works, but is also very slow with similar symptoms.
I tried downgrading to 2.4.24 to use oMfs, but nothing changed. (mfs was
mounted properly to /mfs -> nodes appeard) [also tried i368 because of
Virtual PC]
For testing my setup i used the following script-file:
{
var=0;
for ((i=1;i<100000;i++));do var=$((var+i));done;
echo $var;
} &
I also tried it without the echo, to minimize i/o-processes.
Could this be a problem resulting from networkspeed? -> 100Mbit/s
Thanks for spending some time on this matter,
Bastian
