I ran OpenMosix using a Sue 9.3 distribution and it worked fine.  

My general steps were:

1)  Install Suse 9.3
2)  Get kernel source for 2.4.26.
3)  Patch kernel source with Open Mosix patches
4)  Compile kernel and load it as a new boot option
