Re: strange memory behavior with oM

So, problem avoided.  Outside of satisfying your curiosity, you have found a good solution.

You have changed too many variables for us to make a better guess as to why the original installation was failing.  Do note that I am *not* suggesting that you go back to your original setup and try to track this down unless the hunt is more important to you than having a working system.

Wim's ClusterKnoppix is built upon Debian and openMosix 2.4.27.  While it is not built using a the current official openMosix version, Wim's product has proven to be a very good one.  I suggest you stick with it unless you have some pressing need for going to Fedora.

I replaced the aforementioned systems with clusterKnoppix and the problem
was resolved.
