Building a Cinelerra Render Farm

I've been toiling with this for some time, and have essentially failed 
at getting things together.  So far I've tried using Fedora Core 1, with 
openmosix as my main workstation machine.  Problem there is that I can't 
get all the libraries I need installed so that I can even install Fedora 
Core, and its just been a pain to track them all down...

If anyone has actually done this please let me know what distro you use, 
as well as any other relevent information on the installation, 
compilation, and such.

Dyne:bolic is my only other option, but its so outdated (and slow) that 
I don't really consider it to be much of an option.
