Hi Angelica

What needs to be done is to uncompress the bz2 that you downloaded into 
/usr/src (bzip is a compression algorhythm) and then redirect the 
symbolic link linux-2.4 to this directory from whatever it is now.  This 
should resolve the dependency problem you're experiencing.
