Have you tried tracing the call path?

Writing to /proc/$$/goto should traverse..
proc_ssi_write
pvpop_procfs_write
do_ssi_write
setup_execnode_move where TIF_MIGPENDING flag is set.

Then
do_notify_resume
do_signal
ssi_quiesce_movement
