highend interconnect
is not a good idea.

It's shipping like what is it 2048 bytes at ones in openSSI or so?

The actual latency you'll get confronted with is very very ugly for 
software,
as compared to a dedicated solution that uses MPI at infiniband.

For software using short messages the pain may be very bad. Factor 20+ or so 
that you
lose.
