They are talking about using GFS for shared root filesystem and shared
root is an SSI feature.  OpenSSI had GFS support one time, so you were
able to choose GFS instead of CFS for your shared root filesystem.

OpenSSI is more than just a shared root filesystem though.  It's
possible they could have leveraged the initrd OpenSSI uses to boot
shared root but without init failover and claimed it as their own as
they probably don't use an OpenSSI kernel.  Not too much details
there.
