hello to all

i have a problem in generating a new initrd file in order to add some PC
with a new e1000 NIC

after having built it, the new NIC driver (e1000-7.4.35) runs well on
the master node.

but, the slave PC don't succeed to boot...
after some diagnostics it seems that the initrd image file is not well
generated (curiously when mounting the initrd image file, the lib
directory is empty)

i don't know why, thank you for any idea

uname -a
Linux comclust1 2.4.22-1.2199.nptl_ssi_9smp #1 SMP Tue Mar 29 07:19:53
IST 2005 i686 i686i386 GNU/Linux

mkinitrd ./initrd-test.img  2.4.22-1.2199.nptl_ssi_9smp

if I look inside the initrd image file, the lib directory is empty

$ ls -l ./initrd-test.img
  mount  -o loop  ./initrd-test.img  /mnt/initrd/

$ ls -l /mnt/initrd/lib
total 0

when generating the initrd image file, I see this error message... I
don't know if it is correlated)
$ tail /var/log/messages

Apr 23 17:31:00 comclust1 kernel: device-mapper: ioctl interface
mismatch: kernel(1.0.3),user(4.0.0), cmd(0)

thanks for help
