Wrong ramdisk for OpenSSI, it should be a compressed ext2 not a cramfs.

Looks like it didn't find the drivers for the root filesystem.

I think you have some problem making the ramdisk.

You did use apt-get instead of aptitude for the dist-upgrade & install
openssi?

You did add the drivers for your boot disk & cluster interconnect nic to
the /etc/mkinitrd/modules file?
