ClavAV Load Leveled

Hello,

Has anyone had any luck load leveling either clamd or clamscan?  ClamAV
(clamd for example) works fine but only as a single process on one node
at a time.  I have clamd configured using UNIX domain sockets (not TCP)
for communication.  CVIP is not configured and all the files being
scanned reside on the init node.

ClamAV manages it "work queue" by spawning pthreads up to a maximum
number.  It is my understanding that OpenSSI will migrate threads, but
its whole process will go with it, essentially meaning many threads of a
single process cannot be load leveled.

Is this true?  Has anyone had any luck with some type of workaround? 
Would setting up CVIP and configuring clamd to use TCP sockets
automatically loadlevel clamd?

The the OpenSSI features (http://wiki.openssi.org/go/Features) page says
that ClamAV has been tested, but I don't know what that entails.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
