Personally I'd try the Debian based version, but I'm probably biased :-)

(If you want to install the Debian Sarge version be aware that Sarge is 
only available from archive.debian.org, not the usual mirrors.  If you 
want to try a more up-to-date distribution use my openssi-lenny preview, 
at http://deb.openssi.org/alpha/openssi-lenny).
