OpenSSI 1.2.2 is named the "stable" branch using the biological

I'd try one of the 1.9 branches.

If you like living on the edge I'd go for my OpenSSI Lenny preview, 
otherwise one of the OpenSSI 2.0 preview releases from Roger.  (His 
kernel is certainly more robust than mine, my runtime is a bit more up 
to date than his).
