Re: OpenSSI Demo Application?

People usually talk about clusters in terms of linpack ratings:

... that implementation looks like it would require significant effort
to adapt to anything.  Still, it would be nice to have a simple process
for running that on OpenSSI clusters.  

Oh, wait... Debian has a package:

... it just isn't in the sources (/etc/apt/sources.list) for Debian
5.0.4.  The package seems to be too new, targeting the unstable and
testing branches of Debian.  It could probably be made to work or else
compiled from source.  That looks like that comes an MPI implementation.
Running MPI on an SSI system feels a bit strange to me.

Another option would be to fire up Rack or Plack or a similar web
pipeline with preforked servers and load leveling on and run
apachebench against it.  That's more in line with what I'm doing.

What software were you expecting to be run on the thing?  Figuring
out the software first and then the benchmark/demo secondarily 
might be more appropriate.  Here are some popular favorites:

... most of those aren't cluster aware/cluster specific.
