Hello All,

I am going to try and re-compile the 2.6.14 smp openssi kernel so that I can add in the "CONFIG_FUSE_FS" option so that I can install "apt-get install mhddfs" to union my directories across nodes. This package depends upon the "fuse-utils" to enable stackable filesystems which are common in the linux world.

I am trying to locate and download the openssi 2.6.14 smp kernel sources and headers.

Does anyone have any experience or advice since I just cannot see or justify adding in a NAS like Openfiler or FreeNAS to mount the node directories into the NAS just to export that mount back into the main node since this will simply eat up a lot of bandwidth and there is no need for that since the nodes local drives are already mapped into the main node in the /cluster/nodeX directories.

I am just trying to utilize a unionfs to bring together the nodes drives into a homogeneous user filespace for the /home directories that will all be backed up to a external drive.

I would have thought that OpenSSI would already have this capability since, from what I can tell, servers and nodes with local drives is very common and it is a shame to waste that disk space.

Does not appear that the current compiled in filesystems have any capability for the simple thing that I am trying to do here although I could be wrong.

Thanks and have a great day,
