After digging awhile in the attic: Looks like the updateinfo isn't one of the most used features of apt: it was never ported to 0.5.x series which first came available to rpm world in ..lets see... July 2002, and you seem to be the first to miss the functionality :) Now I don't know why it wasn't ported originally, maybe Gustavo can comment? Doesn't look like it'd be a big deal to add it back, if perhaps a bit differently implementation-wise. - Panu -
