Hi Horst,

thks for sharing your solution. It is Debian-oriented, isn't it? It
complained about 'deb' not being installed:

sudo rpm -ivh apt-smartclean-1.0-0.oc2pus.2.noarch.rpm 
warning: apt-smartclean-1.0-0.oc2pus.2.noarch.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 1dfa8f0c
error: Failed dependencies:
        deb is needed by apt-smartclean-1.0-0.oc2pus.2

I am running apt-get on Fedora 1 here... is 'deb' really required?
