And no hang without it? nope. i can't try a raid1 setup on that machine but have you tried a gentoo mailinglist/forum? kernel folks tend to be sensitive towards vendor stuff. i'm using a stock slackware 21.5 kernel (monolithic) and tend to blame it being non-customized. upgrading to a recent 2.6.23 kernel is on my list still, tho. -- left blank, right bald
