As of right now it hasn't been finally settled either way, but that is probably
how it would be interpreted, especially given that John McCain would probably
have been allowed to take office had he won in 2008 (he was not born on US
territory). In a CS/rules geek context I wonder what would happen if someone
was unquestionably a natural born citizen, then renounced or citizenship, then
was naturalized to regain citizenship. However I can't imagine a situation in
which such a person would get elected President (or VP) even if they would be
eligible. :)
