Call for Debian projects and mentors in Outreachy June 2025 Cohort

Debian is planning to apply as a mentoring organization for the
Outreachy June 2025 Cohort.

This is a call for project proposals for the upcoming program. The
deadline for project ideas submission is on February 25. Those are
mostly ideas and demonstration of willingness to be a mentor in a
specific project, the deadline for a well defined project will be March
7.

Add your project idea to the Outreachy'25 wiki page [1], you can find
some information here [2]. Please, make sure you fill all the
information.  We require that the proposed project has at least one
mentor who is a Debian Developer.

If you need any help in drafting a proposal, feel free to drop an email
to [email protected] or reach out to us on #debian-outreach IRC
channel.

=3D=3D What is Outreachy? =3D=3D

Outreachy is a program that provides internships to people subject to
systemic bias and impacted by underrepresentation in the technical
industry where they are living.

Outreachy is a good way to get new (and old) contributors interested in
the parts of Debian that you consider important and to keep some of
them involved with Debian even after the program ends. Also, an
opportunity to try to increase diversity in the project.
