Upcoming d-i release vs. hard freeze

Hi,

I won't quote my last mail about temporary freezes for udeb-producing
packages in full, it's available here:

Instead I'll focus on that part near the end:

    Looking at the previous release cycles, such freezes usually last
    for a few days only, from a given debian-installer upload until
    installation images have been built successfully, and haven't found
    to be crippled with obvious bugs.

For various reasons, I'll be trying to get D-I Trixie RC 1 out this
week, and I might freeze udeb-producing packages right away, or in the
very next few hours/days.

I do realize it might make some maintainers nervous as the next few days
are the last ones before the hard freeze (scheduled 2025-05-15), and I
do apologize for creating this awkward situation.

That being said, the release team has agreed (should it be needed) to
have at least one britney run between my unfreezing udeb-producing
packages, and implementing the hard freeze.

Be assured I'll do my best to keep the =E2=80=9Cudeb freeze=E2=80=9D to a m=
inimum.
