--zPv71m2vWwAFdrDm Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Dear Debian community, =20 Today we celebrate Debian=E2=80=99s 100000th birthday! =20 Before you start wondering about that age =E2=80=94 yes, that=E2=80=99s 100= 000 in binary, or 0x20 years in hexadecimal. And as we all know, round numbers simply look cooler. ;-) Debian was founded on 1993-08-16, which makes today our 0x20 anniversary. =20 Over those 0x20 years, many of you have contributed =E2=80=94 some for a sh= ort time, others for much longer =E2=80=94 helping Debian grow from a small pro= ject into a global effort producing one of the largest and most widely used Free Software distributions in the world. We=E2=80=99ve packaged software f= or everything from tiny embedded devices to massive clusters, while staying true to our Social Contract and the principles of Free Software. =20 This wouldn=E2=80=99t have been possible without the dedication and collaboration of our contributors and users worldwide. Thank you all for making Debian what it is today. =20 Just last week we saw the latest result of our collective work =E2=80=94 the Trixie release. My warm thanks go out to all involved teams: - the FTPMaster team for their reliable work, - the Release team for coordinating the whole release process, - the Installer team for enabling Debian on diverse hardware, - the Images team for creating the bootable images, - the Press team for shouting the news to the world, - the many developers fixing RC bugs during the release process, - the developers who created documentation for the release process, - and the countless translators enabling Debian to be used by people all over the globe. And, of course, to everyone I may have missed in this list who did important work to make Trixie the great release it is. =20 A particular thank-you also goes to Ansgar for addressing issues with the code-signing service and unblocking work on upcoming Linux DSAs. =20 Let=E2=80=99s celebrate today =E2=80=94 and then enjoy the freedom to uploa= d to unstable again, aiming for an even greater Forky release. =20 Yours, Andreas. --zPv71m2vWwAFdrDm Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQIzBAABCAAdFiEE8fAHMgoDVUHwpmPKV4oElNHGRtEFAmigBxYACgkQV4oElNHG RtFr5Q//cuGdl0n8L7lN+doD+HoastEHDHZHEVg0EHhNKInev09S3jJq8T+RNMvi rBCo0ASnNWA2/b1J2X1QMwouHNjvceT5yN4soE5pGiJBtLGT9O79t5s118H931Hr hECrWi4Vf1X53F+qqybwu1Y4y/wYLtKrDmHcL+0nNOUblGrDo9GZxrdNl8tCB0Lq t0NOIAis/i8rl2oPOPefU0rjlq6Av/gbBWiryZ6wc33xhjUOpY/CGpeSfd9MEtpC V0Hy+QIng4nrDpA+Y3UONMkxMgkW0sHyamz6gQxhRKqXPM9A4GFhA6nqlDDGkpVN kFiq8AUucb01ZPkuRUGium6mFT5CIpBVFK0XHUKyW4/hzBB96TETjP0i9UaeEwpU PPw2jeCwdwcVpRaHZF+JnPweKxW34BsAC01rvlwQLC4z7Wz9v0K/FQkXON1O59f/ pbasqA5cIDuH/7xEr0bpM/HiKbCUCWtU5PbqOvIPYgrHYa9CypTmLnl2NWJ0Qpus WrtNSFOg5C80eJGyFPWJr5OIZsmtNk38RkOIhSf6MnN2mFSnMuJVSV51CMZBcQT1 KfmVwTGqpsOk8URfq5wy4Dr9F/OvUUFQ+VwaQGdyu1Bto+UkdmoBfN/F2tshpXZQ NtRt8VCZKUoI2MSs7IzGqd6GOQQ+z2GYhquaHccrKHJcOOx/IjU= =geLQ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --zPv71m2vWwAFdrDm--
