Dear Debian community,

I would like to clarify and correct my previous mail regarding
delegation changes during the DPL transition.

The wording "all current delegations listed below" was misleading, as
the list provided was not a complete enumeration of all delegations. In
particular, delegations such as Debian System Administrators (DSA) were
unintentionally omitted. To clarify: the intention is that all current
DPL delegations should be considered time-limited until 31 October 2026,
unless renewed earlier by the next DPL, regardless of whether they were
explicitly listed.

I would also like to explain the intention behind this step. The goal is
not to introduce additional hurdles or to require delegates to
"re-apply" for their roles. Rather, it is meant to provide an easy
opportunity for delegates to indicate if they no longer wish to
continue, and to encourage a lightweight exchange with the incoming DPL
to confirm roles and needs. This should help identify where additional
support might be useful, while ensuring continuity where things are
working well. Existing teams and their work are highly valued, and the
intention is to support them, not to question their contributions.

This is not intended to introduce any sudden disruption. The aim is to
provide a clear framework for the incoming DPL to confirm delegations in
an orderly way. Existing teams should not expect any immediate changes,
and continuity of ongoing work remains a priority.

All other aspects of the original mail remain unchanged, in particular
the request for delegates to confirm their interest in continuing their
role to the incoming DPL.  The intention is not that delegates need to
seek approval to continue, but rather to ensure that the incoming DPL
has an up-to-date view of active delegations.

For transparency and to make such texts easier to review and improve, I
have been maintaining delegation-related material in Git[1]. Feedback and
improvements there are always welcome, and I hope this can serve as a
useful basis for the next DPL and for further refinement over time.

I consider this a pragmatic, one-time step to encourage a structured
handover, and I expect that future DPLs can adjust the approach based on
the experience gained.

I apologise for the confusion caused by my initial incomplete wording,
