Bug#1082613: apache2: wrong MIME type for Gzip

Dear Maintainer,

/etc/mime.types maps ".gz" to application/gzip as defined by RFC 6713.
/etc/apache2/mods-available/mime.conf overrides that with the nonstandard
"application/x-gzip". Could Apache please be allowed to use the official,
registered MIME type as long as the sysadmin doesn't configure something
else?
