I have a disk with about 20 partitions and about 10 varieties of Linux installed. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I attempted to install from the debian-testing netinst ISO (forky) on one of the partitions * What was the outcome of this action? Installation proceeded normally until the installer tried to install grub; this failed and so left my system unbootable * What outcome did you expect instead? Normal installation completion and a bootbale system *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: forky/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 7.1.7+deb14-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_GB:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled
