I am the submitter of one of the "please disable this" bugs, but I do
agree that this isn't tech-ctte material.

One resolution might be that Debian considers adding its own "please
donate" notification. To me, it mainly felt wrong that the desktop
environment is asking when the OS itself isn't.

anonreporter: sometimes bugs get resolved in ways that you don't like.
Please accept that instead of writing a lot of vocal mails into all
directions.
