Sorry for that mis-information!

I had tried installing these packages, but had failed to configure them!

mate-polkit works the same way as policykit-1-gnome,
and is in fact a fork of policykit-1-gnome.

I suggest that the release notes recommend Xfce4 users
use mate-polkit for now (xfce-polkit was blocked by the freeze)
