Multiple orig archives, unpacking to a sub-subdirectory

Hi,

I have a source package where additional tarballs need to be extracted to 
a sub-subdirectory.

Should this be supported by dpkg, i.e. does it make sense for me to think 
about this and propose a patch (even though I will need to wait six years 
or so to use it), or is this a waste of time and I should just repack 
everything?
