lots of -cross packages in the repo mirror

I just set up a new cross-build chroot and noticed that using
deb http://ftp.uk.debian.org/emdebian/toolchains unstable main

the repo contains:

zlib1g-*-cross
where * is
hppa|ia64|m68k|mips|mipsel|powerpc|powerpcse|s390|sh4|sparc|sparc64

and
dpkg-*-cross
xz-utils-*-cross
perl-base-*-cross
libselinux1-*-cross
libbz2-1.0-*-cross
coreutils-*-cross
zlib1g-dev-*-cross
where * is
alpha|armel|armhf|hppa|ia64|m68k|mips|mipsel|powerpc|s390|sparc|sparc64

I don't think any of those should be there - is there a good reason for
them?

It looks like dpkg-*-cross got uploaded and dragged in its cross-deps.
Not sure why there is also a variable arch set for different packages.

-----------

Also none of emdebian-armel-toolchain, gcc-4.3-arm-linux-gnueabi,
gcc-4.4-arm-linux-gnueabi, or gcc-4.5-arm-linux-gnueabi, or
gcc-4.6-arm-linux-gnueabi are installable due to libgcc1-armel-cross
depending on gcc-4.6-arm-linux-gnueabi-base (= 4.6.0-7) but only
4.6.0-11 and gcc-4.6-arm-linux-gnueabi: Depends: libgcc1-armel-cross
(>= 1:4.6.0-11) but 1:4.6.0-7 is to be installed.

(usual problem).

The libgcc1 thing is fatal, but I thought we nobbled the
gcc-4.6-arm-linux-gnueabi-base dep in order to make this mess a little
simpler? (althogh I see it is both a dir and a few readme/copyright
files now, so maybe some of that is necessary).

Reverting to deb http://ftp.uk.debian.org/emdebian/toolchains testing main
and installing gcc-4.4-arm-linux-gnueabi works fine.
