Bug#822662: buildcross: should this package be removed from Debian?

Hi,

buildcross depends on long gone automake1.4, automake1.9 and is
therefore no longer installable.
The last upload was in 2012, but since then there has been a lot
of work been ongoing with cross compilation support in other
packages (e.g. cross compilers are now available on a few
architectures).
Maybe buildcross is no longer needed in the current world?

If this is the case, please reassign+retitle accordingly:
