I likewise love the idea of classic Free games being in Debian. That being said, we all have limited time and sometimes there are hard choices to be made about where to spend that time. I say this as someone who "recently" removed several of "my" game packages for maintainability reasons. The way I see it, if something is easy to maintain in Debian (including lack of upstream security issues) and people enjoy using it, let's keep it in. Even if not many people use it. As soon as maintainability starts to be a problem, we have to weigh the effort involved against the benefit our users are getting from it.
