I'm not _that_ interested in renpy myself;
you can co-maintain it if you feel so inclined.

python3-pygame-sdl2 is an old fork of pygame3-pygame by RenPy project
to add sdl2 compatibility when Pygame didn't had it.

I really wished that RenPy would rebase on the "real" Pygame
but instead it looks like they may just vendor the whole thing inside RenPy.

I guess bug 1069961 only happened because you were unlucky
to check-out unstable between the two updates (?)
