Since it is under a free license but requires non-free data to run properly (the original game data), it should go into contrib. My only question before you spend time on it is: Does it actually work? If the engine is still in a too early state to run the game, it might be a bit too early to include it in Debian. Especially as it seems the repository has not been active recently, so we can not be sure if it is still actively developed. PS: No need to CC: me for mails to the debian-devel-games list, I’m subscribed to it already ;)
