I contacted Michael Gernoth, the person behind
https://git.zerfleddert.de/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi/micropolis
asking if he would be onboard with a rebranding of the game.

The most difficult task would be to find a new name.
The rebranding itself is 'easy', I did it locally, using 'freepolis' as 
a new name, but this kind of 5k+ lines patch shouldn't be maintained as 
a downstream patch, so I really hope we could convince upstream to pick 
it up.

personal opinion: this game has more an historical value than anything 
else, so if we can't have it in main i think we should just remove it.
