Re-prioritizing 6to4 over v4 addresses

Hello everyone!

I'm not exactly sure this "user-type" of question belongs here,
but since this list is about using IPv6 on Debian, I thought it
should fit well enough. :-)

Some time ago, on my Debian installation the default behaviour
of many networking applications (like telnet, ssh and konqueror)
changed from using IPv6 to using IPv4 when connecting to some
remote points. It took me a while to figure out that most likely
those are all sites whose names do not resolve to a "real" IPv6
address but to "only" 6to4 addresses.

Now, I'd like to have my Debian installation behave the old way
again (preferring 6to4 over v4), at least for a certain range of
6to4 addresses.

It took me another while to find out that "resolv.conf" won't
help but that "gai.conf" should. But now I'm stuck: What exactly
will I need to change/add/enter into "gai.conf" to get 6to4
re-prioritized over v4 addresses?

I tried uncommenting all the "label" lines and reordering the
"values" to ensure that "2002::/16" got a higher value than
"::ffff:0:0/96"; and I tried uncommenting all the "precedence"
lines and reordering the "values" (but "2002::/16" already had
a higher value than "::ffff:0:0/96" anyway); but both changes
did not show an effect, neither after an application restart nor
after a reboot.

Can someone shed some light on this for me?
