Debian-edu probably did not exist when I registered my interest in it.
The idea was to find something fun and visual in the area of programming
for children to play with.  The example scripts looked nice and simple,
produced stunning visual results, and only required some simple math.
Advanced for kids, I guess, but still simple enough to be appreciated by
older kids.
