Do we need the Python interface of ghmm

Hi Steffen (and two whom it might concern),

when Israel has written the autopkgtest for ghmm it turned
out that there are several issues with the Python3 interface.
In Matrix Nilesh raised the perfectly valid question:

   The py interface is living off a patch from py2to3 and is (very)
   broken. It needs quite a lot of patching. Maybe it's a sensible thing to
   evaluate if we even need it?

Could you please state your opinion about this?

We should respond in a timely manner to the atlas removal
effort (patch in Git) and currently it is blocked by the
test suite issue of the Python3 interface.
