Dear all, this is a consortia message, to collaborate, implement in real 
life through action-research, and get funds. Data as well, where 
relevant. I do hope this email will be of interest to developers and 
maintainers of Debian Med, as we are also working at the intersection of 
open source, medicine, and education through better commented code, 
teaching how to, train from early on. We are forming consortia for 
current EU and Wellcome Trust funding calls, focused on generative AI, 
mental health, and interdisciplinary education. We are looking for 
collaborators with experience in free software and medical informatics.

mostly EU-limited, but there may be space for broader participation.

expters, we believe we ought to join forces if you wish. If useful to 
you, DebianMed and other open source projects related, from all of you, 
could be presented in our upcoming meeting or future ones, to raise 
awareness, find clinical and academic partners, and improve software 
collaboratively. We are preparing now three EU proposals and one 
Wellcome call. I emphasize the hope to get funds to get more done, more

engage more deeply with the EU BEACON One Health Education network. In 
previous iterations of our actions, we were aimed and proposing to 
harness the potential of space technology to address Earth's most 
pressing challenges. Since 2022 and 2023, the network has been pivoting 
towards education, recognizing it as the cornerstone for sustainable 
solutions and global well-being. This deliberate shift underscores our 
commitment to integrating cutting-edge advancements to empower 
communities and foster resilience in the face of evolving global needs

By now we are applying to big European funding calls, shaping consortia 
and working on our first action-research steps to contribute. Our

generative AI in education and training. This call aims to enhance the 
readiness and capacity of educational institutions to leverage 
generative AI in a human-centered and ethical manner. Activities funded 
include research, analysis, design, and piloting of AI applications in 
teaching and learning.

*Wellcome Trust:* Research on generative AI applications for anxiety, 
depression, and psychosis. This program supports fundamental research to 
improve the measurement or treatment of these mental health conditions 
using generative AI. Successful teams will explore optimizing generative 
models for mental health and collaborative approaches involving 
professionals and affected individuals.
