Dear all, I am pleased to be able to announce that our public test database has moved onto new hardware. The website will follow suit. That move was necessitated by the contract with our previous provider running out. The virtual machine is now a 64 bit Debian (it used to be on a 32 bit install) which will allow us to upgrade the VM to Debian/Trixie and beyond. It has served us well, surviving upgrades of no less than five major Debian version, starting with Jessie. It also ran PostgreSQL all the way from v9 onwards. As for technicalities, the hostname stays the same: publicdb.gnumed.de with only the IP changing such that existing clients should transparently start connecting to the new PostgreSQL instance. Let us know of any breakage you might encounter.
