You're reading too much in to what's written.

I'm just raising an issue that's a consequence of the requested action of us developers.

The lintian issue is the reason I don't trim Uploaders of the GIS packages I help maintain.

I guess we can just not do what the MIA teams asks of us, that requires the least amount of work.
