I agree that a vote isn't needed. I originally suggested that it might
be needed because at least one person explicitly suggested that we
should leave X because of political motivations, and I do think that
nobody has ever been delegated to take political decisions on behalf
of Debian. If politics are left out of the equation then I agree it is
within the terms of the publicity team delegation to decide. Though
I'm not sure whether arguments for or against X being "a safe place",
and for which class of people, shouldn't be considered political...

Maybe it's just me and that wasn't intended, but the word "dissenters"
resonates bad to me. Maybe because I'm old enough to remember a time
when in a large part of Europe "dissenters" were being imprisoned and
sometimes killed. In fact that's still happening even today, just in a
different and smaller set of countries. But let's leave that aside.
The choice of that word seems to imply that there is a clear consensus
on what to do and there are just a few people who "dissent". That
isn't the impression that I got from this thread.

And I guess I'm one of those people who aren't "clearly contributing
anything to Debian". I'd like to contribute more, but there's only so
much time I can dedicate, and participating to this discussion is a
way that I'm trying to give a useful contribution. I believe that
ought to be encouraged, rather than used to argue that my opinion
shouldn't count. (By the way I didn't express a strong preference in
either direction, and I'm fine with the publicity team just doing what
they think is better.)
