Just make sure you comment out the tests. It will greatly speed up compilation and one of these tests was even hanging two times: ./a.out -test.short -test.timeout=240s It is a known Debian Bug that the Go tests (a programming language) fail with with gcc-8. If not you would have to connect with gdb to the make process, attach to its pid and close file descriptor three to continue. Nonetheless the necessary packages listed in my last email get created before that.
