Can we calm the tone here (and other lists), please?

The last couple of weeks here have been hectic. Lots of position statements,
lots of emotion and several less than helpful emails.

First and foremost: Remember that personal attacks are not OK.

Follow the guidelines for this and other lists. 

In particular:

Taking private communications and moving them onto public lists without
consent is unacceptable at any time.

In general:

Dragging up old points made in public to pursue people in private is also
not appropriate.

IF people are prepared to treat each other with mutual respect and
consideration for differences in viewpoint THEN most of the issues within
Debian resolve into pure technical problems or simple communication
misunderstandings at best.

If people choose to bully, threaten or push at others then we all lose. Each
of us loses time and mental effort in coping with a charged situation and
attempting to follow long, emotionally loaded threads  

Some people may choose to retreat into silence; others may choose to leave
Debian behind and go and do something less draining instead.

Behaving badly in Debian drags people down and achieves nothing useful: Don't
Do It.
