Not sure where you take that "dogma" from, but there are in fact many
initiatives working on free AI models. One I like a lot is Apertus:
https://www.apertus-ai.org/ and I also recommend having a look at the
Open Source AI "Gap Map" here https://www.aipotluck.org/map , which is
tracking the level of openness of many models out there with a solid
methodology.

I find the goal of truly free AI extremely important myself.  But I
don't see how it is related to the other options on the ballot.  If you
want Debian to vote on this matter, I believe it should be a separate
GR, to not complicate the ballot further.
