Indeed.

Also, how is the existing repository handled?

  * Is the repository deleted automatically every now and then?
  * Or will it have to be updated manually?

Code-wise it seems like the old repository is preserved and "svn up"'ed.
 AFAICT it means it will stay on trunk.
