Noob question

I was trying to install Debian web install ...to a virtual box...and was unable to configure the host and domain names...so I aborted and deleted the machine....now I have no internet on my whole laptop. Or other virtual boxes. What did I do wrong and how do I fix it? Windows troubleshooter keeps trying to reset the virtual box host only adapter idk...
