libmariadb-dev package listing

To Whom it may concern:

Looking at your web site, it states the libmariadb-dev package contains at least the files libmariadbd.a and libmysqld.a both of which were included in older versions of debian.  When I installed that package on my new debian system, I do not have those files.  At least one of which is required to build my application.

Where can I get these files for the i386 and amd64 architecture?
